How we review brokers.
Published before we review a single broker, so it cannot be written to fit a conclusion.
The rule that governs everything else
Commission never affects a score. A broker paying us more is not ranked higher, is not given a softer summary, and is not protected from criticism. If we ever cannot say that honestly about a page, that page will not be published.
What we score
| Criterion | What we check |
|---|---|
| Regulation & fund protection | Licence verified on the regulator's own register; the exact legal entity a client contracts with; segregated funds; negative balance protection; compensation scheme if any. |
| Real cost | Spread + commission + swap for the same trade across account types, sampled at more than one time of day. |
| Platform & beginner UX | Whether a first-time user can find position size, set a stop, and read total cost without help. |
| Deposits & withdrawals | Methods, stated processing times, fees, and any condition that appears only after depositing. |
| Education & demo | Whether a demo is genuinely free and unlimited enough to learn on. |
| Support | Response on a real question, not a sales question. |
How evidence is gathered
Claims about a broker must be verifiable from the broker's own legal documents or the regulator's register. Where we test something ourselves — costs, withdrawal timing, support response — we say so and date it. We do not repeat figures from other review sites.
Every review carries a "who this broker is NOT for" section
It is mandatory. A review that only praises is a review nobody should trust.
Corrections
Brokers change spreads, entities and conditions. If you find something out of date or wrong, tell us and we will correct it and note the change. See our editorial policy and affiliate disclosure.
